Darkest Light is a director led Unreal Engine 5 prototype exploring tone, world direction, and realistic production scope for a dark fantasy PvE experience.
Built over 3.5 months by a two person team. I led creative direction and worked hands on across world design, environment art, 3D modeling, level layout, lighting, UI, and full in engine implementation in UE5. I collaborated closely with a technical animator and programmer handling character systems, gameplay logic, and multiplayer.
The project explored a four player co op PvE concept focused on large scale encounters, world progression, and cooperative mechanics. The prototype was used to validate atmosphere, scale, combat flow, and technical feasibility before committing to full production.
This project stands as a focused pre production case study showing fast iteration, clear direction, and realistic scope evaluation within a very small team.
